Second-to-Last Match of the 2025-2026 Season

AB Gladsaxe play tomorrow, Friday 29 May, match no. 31 and therefore the second-to-last match of the season. It takes place at JHH Park (Næstved Stadium), where Næstved are the hosts.
Referee Frida Mia Klarlund will kick off the match at 19:00, and assisting her on the lines will be Tarik Kabiljagic and Søren Stagaard.
Næstved lost their most recent home match against Thisted FC 2-0. When Vendsyssel FF won their match in the same round, it meant that Næstved could no longer reach the 2nd promotion spot.
AB underlined their great season most recently by sending HIK home to Gentofte with a 5-0 defeat. In addition to being promoted to Betinia LIGA 1st Division, AB are also winners of CampoBet 2nd Division.
The match in Næstved will therefore be a game that won’t change the standings and where “only” a win is at stake. However, it’s a win AB will go for 100%, and it could be their 23rd win of the 2025-2026 season!
Marcus Immersen is back in the wider squad after being out for a long time with an injury. Søren Ilsøe is suspended. Goalkeeper Adam Ingi Benediktsson is with the Iceland national team in Japan, where a friendly between the two national teams will be played on Sunday.

Jeppe Gertsen says the team will do everything to win: “Tomorrow’s match is one we have to go out and win. We always play to win, and we have to do that tomorrow too with the great energy we’ve shown all season. We’ve seen that Næstved are a good footballing side, so we need to bring a lot of energy and break down their play so things happen on our terms.
We’ll bring the same approach even though the match doesn’t matter for the standings. We’re professional footballers, and it’s our job to do well. It’s always great and a good feeling when we’ve done well, and it’s also nice to take that feeling with us when we’re soon going on holiday. It means more than many people think, so we have a lot to play for and it won’t be a holiday match.
I had a good time when I played in Næstved, and I was happy to be there. It’s always a bit special to play against a former club, but it’s also great, so I’m looking forward to it,” Jeppe Gertsen concludes.

Head coach Fannar Berg Gunnólfsson is going for the win: “We’re constantly working on improving and sharpening up in certain areas. Tomorrow’s match against Næstved isn’t any different from the one we played last week or two months ago. Næstved are one of the best teams in the league, and we need to be on the front foot when we face them tomorrow—otherwise they can make it really difficult for us to play against them. So it’s important that from the start of the match we press and put a lot of energy into it, because they’re a really good team.
We want to play every match with the aim of winning. That’s the same in the last two matches—we go onto the pitch to win,” Fannar Berg Gunnólfsson concludes.
